Everything you want in Sangiovese. Bright red fruit with some punch, mid weight frame, structured enough to age, yet balanced enough to appreciate the precision here. The texture is wonderful, airy yet layered and substantial. Sour cherry, black currant, wild herbs and turned earth. A fruit filled finish laced with bolts of iron and wilted flowers. Delicious. Lost some freshness and became a bit pruney the second day so, while delicious now, I don’t suspect the vintage lent itself to making wines that will last.

Definitely smells more stiff on the nose. And on the palate too. Thinking of the Chianti I just came from. More pure though. Really comes through with swirling.

Earthy tobacco on the nose some nice minerality. Pretty good for twenty bucks.

Russk. Subtle nose of iron and Slavonian Oak. Light bodied with high acidity. Finishing dusty/chalky. Reminiscent of a light Langhe Nebbiolo.$14J.
