Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 93 points

  • The colour of light golden syrup. A nose that grabs the attention straight away: classic noble-rot bitter-marmalade aromas. The palate is... POW...sweetness! (199g/l residual sugar, I read.) It feel like a Pedro Ximenez! There is a faint tingle of limey acidity, but the sweetness is almost cloying. Hmm... I love Framingham's wines, especially their Rieslings. And I love sweet wines, including TBAs. But somehow this wine is not pleasing me. It seems out of balance. Not enough acidity, I think. It makes a strong impression, hence the 89 points, but there are many sweet wines I'd rather revisit. This asks to be drunk by the teaspoon rather than by the glass. Screwcap, 9.5%, 375ml.
