Darker translucent ruby color. Nose of acrid red berry, billowing florals, saline, beef blood, iron particles, brier. Layers of brisk, tart red raspberry, deep drilling sweet iodine, iron notes, brambles, sauvage, and earth on the palate. Sharp, energizing acidity and firm tannin overcome by drenching fruit. Long finish of grippy red fruit and echoing red soil. Whoa.

Purchased on release from Burgundy Wine Co. This is an excellent Gevrey villages. Dark ruby color. Both red and black fruit on the nose, but neither dominates. Moderate, but not excellent, concentration of fruit on the palate but, if tasted blind, I doubt that I could pinpoint it as Gevrey. At the peak of the drinking window. I would drink this now or in the next couple of years.

Opaque dark ruby. Nose of lifted hearty floral notes, saline, sharp plum, fresh cut berry, and iodine. Layers of deeply pitched tart black raspberry, black cherry, and plum fruit on the palate cut with iron, beef notes, and brier. Lovely acidity and firm, structured tannin. Long finish of ringing red and black fruit, brambles, and sauvage elements. Young, but showing so much character and flat-out fun to drink.

This is a stunning village that shows you just how good the 05 vintage is.
Just bought two cases.
