The pour shows a very dark red wine, with no dregs. The nose is Black and red fruit, oak, loam. The body is very full as would be expected from 96% Merlot wine. The taste is a fruit forward with tart middle and smooth oak finish. A very smooth merlot, with great structure and a sweet to tart finish.

COLOR - beautiful deep red, highly extracted wine. NOSE - very classy flower and oak aromatics, with Bordeaux-like qualities. TASTE - a little less complexity than I expected, but a very solid CA merlot, given the vapidness of most in this class today; nice low-level black fruits, medium-long finish. RATING - 89.

Family Network Food and Wine Pairing (Highland Park Community Center): Tasted at the 2008 Family Network Wine and Food Pairing in HP.
Unbalanced on the finish. Otherwise not a bad cheaper merlot.

We really enjoyed this merlot. Nice balanced black cherry and oak in both taste and nose.
