  • 100% Pinot Noir
    primarily from Sileni Plateau Vineyard with free-draining silt over gravels.
    De-stemmed. Mixture of open-top and closed fermenters.
    25% wild ferment and the rest inoculated with cultured yeasts.
    ~7-day fermentation plus 3-week maceration before pressing.
    Free run only racked to 225L barrels (18% new French oak) for malolactic
    (30% innoculated; rest natural) and aged further 9 months.
    13.5% Abv.
    Background: Sileni Estates based in Hawke's Bay, North Island with vineyards
    as well in Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand.

    A(ccuracy)=2: Med light garnet. Lean and firm varietal.
    B(alance)=2: Modulated fruit with tight structure.
    C(omplexity)=1: Ripe red berries, licorice, earth.
    D(epth)=1: Sinewy mouthfeel. Average length and finish.
