Bought soon after release (april 1989) for the grand sum of $20 and the last of my initial 1985 purchases. Perfect color for a 30 year old wine. Cork intact and relatively easily removed. Needed only about 10 minutes in the decanter and one minute in the glass to reveal that delicious 1985 fruit. A little bit of earthiness present, totally consistent with Morot Beaunes made by Mme Choppin. Shared with one friend over grilled dry aged strip steaks. Just delicious and a good investment of $20.

Bottle and fill good. Cork was wet with mould under the capsule, but it came out intact. Reticent at first, but filling out well over an hour. Fairly typical for the producer and not as generous as many 85s. Still a good traditional Beaune that is earthy with proper weight and balance. Slightly austere, but fine with food - Porchetta in this case. Getting toward the end now if this bottle is representative.

Leaking bottle but other than that the wine was very fine. Barnyard on the nose, silky tannins, long finish, very good bottle indeed.
