Dark Purple color. Big and Bold. Initially a bit astringent, with a good bit of tannin, but opened up nicely after 30 minutes. Dark fruits with plums, oak and cassis, with nice structure. Let breathe for 45 minutes for best results. Very good QPR

On the denser side, with good grip and pleasing dusty tannins. Fruit flavors of dark berries predominate. Very reliable bottling that I pick up year-in, year-out.

On the nose, there are heavy expressions of black fruit (heavy black currant), mixed with a bit of spice, and hints of floral notes.
On the palate, the entry is quite smooth and balanced. I was impressed with the integration of the oak with the youth of the fruits. Quite enjoyable. An unremarkable finish with interwoven cherry/vanilla. Predictably tannic, given the wine’s youth; I suspect it will settle down with time.
Overall, this is about as nice as you can expect from a $20 cab. It hits all of the marks but doesn’t knock it out of the park in any. I enjoyed the wine and would buy another bottle.

Fresh, blackcurrant, still young, but starting to develop into a nicely rounded cab.
