  • To begin with this wine was quite reductive on the nose. However, after 10 minutes or so in the glass the reductiveness evaporated. This wine is certainly to the heavier side of white burgundy. Ripe tropical fruit, almonds and ripe apples. However with a bit of time in the glass it turned more mineral, balanced and with notes of white flowers which I quite enjoyed. So this wine certainly needs some air to open up and loose some of its "fat". The acidity also got mor present with some air. Overall a very tasty Chassagne. Curios to try his 2019 of same wine to see the difference.

  • This was really quite lovely; paired with seared herb crusted halibut and parmesan risotto; this was round and full of ripe fruit; the nose shows poached pear, ripe almost baked apple, a hint of cream, orchard blossom. The palate shows ripe fruit with a lovely rounded feel, but has a burst of acidity through the mid palate that is needed; it keeps the wine fresh and while it smells borderline heavy, it doesn't feel that way at all; definitely better and for me needs a richer type meal to pair; bottled with natural cork.

Day 2 was just as good; maybe even a little more floral. Very tasty.

  • Love this wine. Definitely on the buttery side but balanced with great acidity. Butterscotch.

  • Thanksgiving Weekend in Willamette; 11/25/2021-11/27/2021 (Willamette Valley OR): Tasted at Antica Terra alongside Aurata 2019. Floral start with orchard fruit aromas. Seemingly ripe start on the palate with softer structure, but fruit and structure balance out in the middle as everything picks up steam. Ends with engaging minerality and good length. Good now, probably slightly better in another year or three.
