Golden lemon colored, medium to full-bodied, full, round, concentrated, complex opulent fruits with a layer almost bordering on butterscotch, accented by notes of baking spice, hints of lemon, grapefruit, ginger and a touch of peach and almond nut cream, with bright acidity, depth and balance on a full long finish. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2021/12/venge-brown-ranch-chardonnay.html

Very pleasant vanilla/cinnamon/pineapple.....enjoyed with apps at a new French place in town. Quite nice as Carol had more of it with her black grouper.......this vineyard always has its own distinct flavor profile vs other chards in Napa.....so nice!
Drinking better and better......Brown Ranch has a bit of a unique flavor profile. Great structure playing out as this vintage moves through '20. Kirk Venge has done a beautiful job with this vineyard. There is just enough cream, just enough oak, just enough tropical fruit to be in a great drinking window right now. Great from the pnp....have not thought about decanting it to see what it does with long term air. I have the feeling it would score even better so may hold a glass for overnight in the bottle, no gas, no vacuum and see where it drinks tomorrow night......
Forgot about this bottle in the fridge last night so now in its 3rd day. 2 in the fridge with the cork only, no gas, no vacuum. Still surprisingly strong. Hard to tell it's been open this long.....not stale, not washed out. Good acidity, touch of butter and oaky. Good malo mouth feel. Same score.

Pale hay in color. Strikes a nice balance between a Cali Sauvignon Blanc style and a Chardonnay. Light melon fruits interwoven with citrus, lemon and a viscous buttery mouthfeel. Well done. About 91-92.
