  • This was a BD 2022 special. Eric said to wait a bit. I did and this was wonderful!

  • Another delightful effort, light gold, bracing acidity and minerality with tropical fruit featuring passion fruit and pineapple, clean finish.

  • I am typically not a Chard guy, but I could get used to wines like this.

Initial nose was fairly reductive. After 30 minutes in the glass I get gunflint, lemon oil, cinnamon, flowers, a bit of yeasty bread note, and a bit of candied pineapple. Medium bodied, a great acid backbone, and smooth texture that avoids the excessive creaminess which I dislike in Cali Chards. Palate is focused a spiced lemon, pineapple, and orange. I get a huge crest of minerals right after the fruit. Long pineapple, orange zest, and flinty finish.

This wine has focus and a strong spine.

  • Excellent, straddling new and old, this has excellent ripeness and concentration and a long finish balanced impeccably on a mineral frame. Ripe citrus, maybe nectarine?, perfect acidity. Drank well over several nights.

    13.9% abv

No hurry here, this looks like it could age gracefully.

  • Just great chardonnay. Bright clear pale straw yellow with a touch of green. A slightly gunflinty reductive character on the nose, slate, lemon oil, a bit of tropical fruit/pineapple, musky white flowers. Clean and bright acidity, great balance and texture, bright fruit balanced with minerality, some bass notes come in on the finish that merges into a persistent orange rind citrus acidity. Clearly rooted in California but with some nice Chablis-ish / Burg-ish character separating it from the pack. Fantastic for the price.
