Simple decant, consumed over several hours, Just over the hump, probably a stunner 3-5 years ago. This still had fruit on display but the oak saturation was slightly out of balance. Not bad for an old shoe NAPA Cab. Drink 5 years ago...

Has lost some punch, but still a great wine. Need to drink it now if you still have it. A pleasant journey with blackberry and pepper (a hint), and reasonably long finish.

Deep, dark reddish-purple garnet in color with clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & cassis with overtones of classic cigar box notes of cedar & tobacco, earthy/dusty, herbs, some mint, coffee/cocoa, minerals, spices & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & silky smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & plums with cocoa, herbs, minerals, spices & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing. At 16 years of age, it is close to or at its peak of development although it still may have some limited potential for further development if cellared properly.

Only had 2 bottles the first one I drank way back in May of 2011, this bottle was fully integrated and showing secondary flavors that are elegant and refined, the nose is soft yet fragrant, with raspberry, cherry, cassis, cranberry and a soft medium finish a fine example of aged Napa fruit.

Drinking perfectly right now. Loads of primary fruit, smooth, long finish. Slight age in the dark ruby color. Far exceeded my expectations.
