  Pale straw color. Melon and herb nose. Initial impression on the tongue was "lean." After a couple seconds, however, there was a gush of melon and tropical fruit. It reminded me, a bit, of a lot of oaky California Chardonnays. It did have nice acid tartness. Then, under the back palate there was a lot of grassiness--something I often associate with SB.

  My first try at this SB....this bottle seems a bit flat and lifeless, like a 2 day old Coke left open in the fridge. Maybe a bad bottle? I don't know. Seemed like it had zero acidity to back up the fruit.

  Crisp and fresh, with a great body and weight distribution along the palate. A bit of power on the back end that drives the fruit through the finish. Lightly tropical flavored, with yellow citrus, white melon, guava, and slight grass notes adding interest. Slightly angular on the tail, but with enough fruit to keep the reverberating flavors pulsating nicely from beginning to end. This will be a bad ass porch sipper once summer rolls around. Even better on day two.
