WOTN in a lineup for N.Rhone syrahs. This had great depth, some exotic blue fruit and a hint of eucalyptus that I really enjoyed. It’s rather polished (as 18s are wont to be) but I loved it. Far more open than a recent 18 Jamet

This is delightfully approachable from the PnP - it's not a beast, but on the light/floral spectrum. Happily, it's also really gripping. Nice tannins. I get a lot of chocolate but zero licorice.

Beautiful wine, the warm vintage handled very well indeed. It has all the tell tale côte-rotie notes of black olives, black fruit, sound minerality, some bacon, but there is an understated elegance to this, that really impresses. Still very young - but can be approached #Salt#Admiral

586 days passed since my first note. Legible, forthcoming aromas. Much of its earnest, brain-quenching fruit action has now settled into the structure. Perhaps curiously, this lapse of time also increased the salience of its musky black grape flavor. Shaded eyes are brooding over chocolate and espresso, thumb prints greasy with licorice. Ample chewy texture is here, stiffly structured with tannin, like split timbers dressed in salt tar and coffee sour. Molinari penicillin. Brightly animated on top—a blackbird twilight. Really pretty, the way it finishes, as it gathers tension in a bittersweet statement of pan crust and pastis.

So cloaed and tight as to be actively unpleasant. All sweet tarts and opaque tannin. Even open a long spell.
At +1 and +2 days - still gross. Taste alcohol and volatile notes. No clue what the story is here - me or the wine.
