95+ pts

Barrel Tasting at Domaine Lafarge (Volnay): Hand de-stemmed. The mineral and stoniness is fully up front here with fruit that crosses into the blueberry spectrum. So precise and well defined on the palate. Will benefit from cellaring 10+ years. 92-93

Burgundy, Day 1 (Beaune, France): Barrel sample. Hand-destemmed. Tricky to evaluate given a bit of an ornery fizzy red fruit thing, but the minerality here is stunning. The outstanding feature here is the minerality, which is far more prominent than the other three 1er crus.
