  Intensely fruity. It is, really. Red as red can be fruit-wise. Very concentrated flavours of berry/cherry fruit with a candied edge. Luckily sufficiently vinous not to be categorised as just juice. This will pair well with tomato sauce pasta.
  If you want a red wine that excels in concentration and red fruitiness but does have the sugary sweetness that many of the modern Italians, highly praised by some critics (Luca Maroni and alikes), display, this is a good choice.
