Far better than the bottle tasted in March 2014 (which came from my cellar too). Not the most elegant of port wines, it is quite hot and stalky on the nose, but the freshness, mineral energy and drive on the palate are unmistakeable, combined with a firm core of sweet black cherries and warm spices, dark chocolate and ripe tannins; juicy and lively, complete finish, very good length. Packs quite a punch, not for the faint of heart (91). On the second day, it has simmered down a bit, the nose has cedar and spice, the palate feels more rounded and complete, full-bodied and sweet, with lovely floral lift, ripe red berries and milk chocolate; the alcoholic heat on the finish is not a dissonant. Very good (92).

Very developed on the palate with dried fruit, raisins, figs cherries in liqour and violet candy. Nice balance but shows a little bitterness and the finish is also rather short. Over all the wine tastes very good but lacks a little complexity and finesse.

Not too sweet, rather complex, with a broader palate than I usually experience with port. Soft and silky. The nose was just marvelous with such a variety of impressions. After 1 hour or so the tannins strike back. 92 pts now. Maybe 93-94 in 5-10 years.

Terroirwijn Vintage Port 1994 tasting and lunch (Villa Augustus, Dordrecht, NL): Mature appearance; evolved nose, hint of maderisation, stalky, little to it; light palate, lacks weight and concentration, cherry stones, vegetal notes, drying tannins, liquorice.
