Near perfection. Better than Burgundy. just a great bouquet and palate with a long well balanced finish. Drinking great now. Will compare with the 2013.

Ruby red. Smokey ripe aromas. Mixed red and black fruit with black more pronounced on the second day. Ripe cherries with a hint of cough syrup. Good weight throughout and fine tannins, good intensity. Power over fitness with a long finish, which became less so on day 2.

Medium reddish garnet in color. Full, forward & aromatic nose of ripe red cherries, blueberries & strawberries with overtones of floral notes of violets, earthy/dusty, spices, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & mulberries with spices, herbs, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Drinks quite well at present and even at 8 years of age it could continue to develop further with additional aging.

PnP and consumed over two nights. Light to medium garnet. Fragrant nose that is pretty, baking spice and mineral, some lush fruit still in the back. Trace of heat implying 14%+. Lovely weight on the palate. Quite vibrant and juicy, seamless texture. Black cherry. Wonderful at the moment, still plenty of time left.
Interesting juxtaposition on this on night 1 - the nose smells quite advanced while the palate drinks a lot younger with plenty of primary punch left.
Getting some interesting cumin, coriander and middle eastern spice notes on night 2.
