Two bottles in one week. Both in good condition and with relatively consistent tasting notes although the cork in the second bottle was corrupted. Currently a good wine, but not overwhelming, fullbodied with decent structure and length. Traditionally styled but without barnyard (bretanomyces). Just the taste of cooked red fruits (strawberry jam, resulting from overripe Grenache I suppose) and a dominating note of alcohol holds me back to give a higher score than 88-89. The 2004 of this wine was quite similar. I should have drunk them in their youth presumably..
Both vintages in Southern Rhone were rather solid than great according to Jancis Robinson and think this wine reflects the vintage character properly. So because this wasn´t a bargain and still isn´t a cheap wine (around 22-23 Euros) I would recommend to pick only the best vintages from this stable.
The 2006 won´t improve and is on the edge of decline for my taste. Drink now and until 2023.

Plus de 12 ans plus tard ce vin présente encore une belle structure sur des arômes de fruits mûrs. En bouche les tanins sont fondus, le tout sur une finale soyeuse.

A surprisingly good bottle, much less matured then the ones before, very balanced and nicely structured.

Bill's wine. Bright plummy and dark cherry fruit, black pepper, with fairly youthful tannins and acidity for its age.

Dark fruits. Soft. Rich and easy to drink. Not complex.
