  • like if bees made honey out of pineapple and lime and then somehow it was made into a gas, glowing green neon onto a bed of fresh cooling herbs ... electric and precise with a Damascus blade of salinity that comes surging through ... one of the two most memorable wines I've drunk this year

  • If there was ever a wine that argued for decanting young Rielsing GGs, it is this Protestant mystery. Withdrawn nose of apricot, white peach. Fresh, ripe palate of apple and grapefruit with the balance and harmony of a Puligny. But the mineral power and concentration are hiding right now. Rather than use this pretty but shy wine as a wall flower to praise the extroversions the Nahe and Rheinhessen achieved in 2019, I am choosing to wait another 2 or 3 years before passing final judgement. 93 now, likely 96 in 4-5 years.
