  Certainly ripe and plush, but this is not particularly marked by the very warm vintage. Red fruit compotes, a little blueberry and dark cherry, beautiful pine forest and violet notes, a little airy oak spice too. Full and nearly velvety, this is primary but already quite smooth and easy, beautiful fruit persists with spice on the finish. Rich and gourmand, this will shape up nicely over the next few years, and may be worth following a decade or two. It is already quite soft, so I would follow it closely.

  Pop and pour. This opens up nicely with crunchy red fruit. Cherries and cranberries. A year ago this was more structural but now it has smoothen out on the palate. It's a very good wine with further potential for improvement. Works great with food.

  Clear garnet in color, with a pungent nose of red berries. On the palate the wine is delineated with bright cherries and a hint of spice. Tannins are already smooth, but young and tight. As the wine opened (drank over two nights), tertiary notes of beef jus and plum developed, but the tannins were still tight. Overall this is really nice, well-balanced Pinot...but at this price point, the QPR is terrible. May have just committed infanticide: its possible this wine would have developed into something more exciting given time, but alas I will not try again at this price point.
