Bottle # 2 since last month. On nose and palate: all notes consistent from my January posting.....and the acidity seems somewhat , slightly softer, full flavoured and focused, without being heavy.....lean, sleek with a fine balance of meaty notes, fruit , earth and minerals.....went perfectly with pork roast, basmati rice and winter vegetables this evening.

A different style than Guigal.... On nose: dried rose, bacon, heated iron. On palate: all above notes present, with tart black berries, a ghost of both eucalyptus and rosemary, bitter Seville orange peel, vibrant( almost Burgundian ) acidity, and a finish with coffee notes. The wine is 5 years old, possibly made from young Syrah vines.....austere, elegant, old school Rhone...good food wine , but requiring a 2 hour decant, to open up. My only concern, is that the prominent acidity may swamp the fruit.....tentatively, drink over the next 3 years, but not beyond.

Really aromatic nose of bacon fat, iron, blood, meat rub, hints of barbecue glaze. Pretty engaging nose with a lot going on, even without the wine in the glass it was super distinct. The palate is a little thinner wirh tart unripe blackberries — it’s maybe not quite as focused or structured as you’d hope, but it’s still good on the strength of the nose and the freshness in general.

Very pleased at how much freshness and zing this showed - lovely black-olive syrah fruit.

Ripe fruit. Tannins more integrated. Medium bodied, medium to long finish. Spice and typical Syrah notes. Easy drinking.
