  • Absolutely stunning. Complex layers of orchard fruits, cloves, citrus and herbs. Superb tang acidity with persistent length. The oak seems well integrated. So good right now, but I can see this getting better with some cellar time.

  • From a small bottle from Zak. Tasted double blind. Seems like young white burg with lots of oak - some lemon, spice, some green and herbs that make me think Chassange. It's clearly very young so I guess 2018 or 2017, and Z confirms 2018. Some smoke and a touch of caramel. I know Z’s cellar roughly and some buying patterns, so it’s not hard to zero in on Brisset Chassange - I also had a Brisset Chassagne not too long ago, so there is some memory of they style. It’s got a lot of depth and oomph so I’m fairly certain its 1er. Lots of flavor and some serious oak, but there is enough stuff that it isn’t overwhelming. Nice lemon streak with a bit of lime, spicy. A bit of mint or green or menthol. Very racy - good flavor and depth and not heavy at all. Finish is lime and lemon and mint and oak. Good stuff, needs 15 years. Could improve if the oak subsides and integrates. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 16/20.
