Decanted and enjoyed with pasta and red meat sauce. Very approachable for a young Riserva. Upfront aromas of mulchy, black earth; tart cherry; sweet raspberry; new leather; smokiness; and chunky red rock. Fruits are youthful and fresh. Structure is present with tannin and acids not yet integrated. Finishes long. Good balance; excellent length, focused intensity; and evolving complexity. Drink now with decanting and food or hold. Upside potential.

This was a great find via Garagiste. I would buy this again at a heartbeat at the $26+ price. A serious Sangio with a lot going on. Will age very well, no doubt. The 16s, man, the 16s…they are killer.

Quick note: sour cherry, freshly fallen leaves, a bit of iron and dried flowers. Fine brightness and acidity. Sapid, mouthwatering. Fine pairing with Amartriciana. Even bested a very tasty bottle of Sa’etta 2013.
