Wow! I don't know how some of the wines reviewed below were stored, because this wine is stunning now! The flavors are well melded and intensely concentrated. Extracted blueberries, blackberries, mulberries, tar, with Smooth well structured tannins perfectly balance the concentrated dark fruits... Just wow!

Scored as 'Excellent' on the CT scale. Under cork (and a crumbly one at that) but there was minimal ullage. Bottle decanted and first glass poured about an hour later.
This was very, very popular with my hosts; for me less so, though I can recognise its qualities. The strongest element for me was the lovely velvety mouthfeel, with some soft but still present tannins to hold it together at the finish. Very good length and intensity. Prune fruit, somewhat lacking definition, but this won't trouble many drinkers. I wasn't getting the complexity some other reviewers have pointed to - perhaps bottle variation?
A near certain winner for those who enjoy the Barossa styles and there is nothing wrong with that.

Dark ruby color. Medium body. Nose of cherries, plums, dried thyme, oregano. Mature wine, good acidity, lots of fruit (dark cherries, plums), some oak, dried Mediterranean herbs, a hint of red licorice, well-integrated tannins… a stunner! Drink now or hold 3-4 more years.

Again tasted next to 2005 The Struie. Less expressive, less jammy, spicy, a little port-like on the nose. Drying on the palate, intense, again obvious alcohol, Long. 87-89
