Beautifully poised - great buttery ripe yellow and white peach juxtaposed with a vibrant freshness, displaying some salinity. Some tangerine and shortbread. Delicious. Medium plus length, hints of complexity. Drinking now, will improve over the next 3 years. Enjoy!

Part of the Hyde vineyard vertical. Had it as part of 2014, 2015, and 2018. Upon initial pour, this one was the most backwards, shy on the nose to the point I thought it was flawed .
But after two hours in the air, this came alive with generous citrus and yellow and green apple notes, framed by judicious use of oak and malo bringing richness.
Reminds me of a good Pouilly Fuisse. While the 2015 has this beat in terms of overall finesse, this was certainly good on its own.

Fun with Hyde: The wine from the founder is unfortunately the most predictable of them all, with an oaky viscosity that lacked the precision of the others. Aromas of lemon meringue, butterscotch, and vanilla bean. Flavors of key lime, toasted almond, and orange curd, with a toasty and round finish. 14.4% alcohol. This is less energetic than when I tasted it last year (1/20 - 94 points). 14.2% alcohol. 92 right now, but drink soon.

Bright Chardonnay from an iconic vineyard. Light colored, straw yellow. Nose has hints of honeydew melon, green apple and faint vanilla. High acidity, lemon meringue taste. After a couple hours the acidity balances with some more tropical fruit tastes.

Solid wine, not overdone. Burgundy vibes.
