This Bourgonge is clearly showing its age both on the nose and in the colors around the edge of the glass. But, it doesn't really show age on the palette in my book. Notes of sour cherry compote dominate, not a lot of layers, but the sour cherry is very nice. A medium finish, also dominated by a touch of sour.

Putting this bottle down as flawed. A lot of brettanomyces and slight spritz and volatile smell. There is decent fruit behind and was endurable however alas not very enjoyable and we decided to replace it at dinner. Mild improvement overnight but still not anywhere near what it should be.

Nicely developed with savoury, earthy and mushroomy notes over ripe cherry cola and cassis aromas. Smooth on the palate, with medium acidity, quite rich fruit flavours, and spicy oak notes on the finish. Kind of guilty pleasure.

Lovely nose of black cherry, smoke and earth. The fruit is ripe in the mouth but there's a lovely cherry stone coolness to the wine. It is not the deepest '05 but it is impeccably balanced and utterly delicious.

Fairly big fruit with pronounced black cherry/cassis flavours and moderate oak that's fully integrated. Nicely balanced and drinking well now, our only objections being 1) somewhat pushed aromatics 2) slightly cloying/chocolatey finish. Goes well with manchego semi-curado.

(Boisset Jean-Claude Chambolle-Musigny) This is a blend of 3 different vineyards all located at the top of the village, Grégory says that you really need to wait much longer to harvest here and that the results are much more interesting than from the vineyards below the village. After the Serpentières this is a narrow, focused nose over a brooding and denser creamy base. It’s a wide vista on the palate with velvet tannins and a very good length. This is a very understated and uncomplicated wine and highly recommended.
