  • Jammy plum fruit with a heavy smack of floral flavors, and not just violet like I would usually expect for red wine, but honeysuckle and white wine floral flavors too. Very perfumed and very brambly. You get some anise and vanilla on the finish with just a touch of smoke. Lots of life though. I’m wondering how typical this is of cinsault? It’s so fresh and I usually associate Cinsault with animal flavors and barnyard funk—quite the opposite of fresh. This only got better with air. For the price, I’m impressed.

Really nice juicy fruit with savory and herbal notes on the finish. Reminded me of Carignan just a bit. Good.

  • Popped and poured. Faint floral aroma. Rich mix of berry, plum, and herbs up front, sweet cassis and a touch of anise in the finish. Forward, friendly, firm backbone, vibrant, some complexity, great staying power. Excellent stuff, decent QPR.
