  • In my opinion a very uncharacteristic Sauvignon Blanc, mainly sourced from the ‘Deidesheimer Paradiesgarten’ vineyard (red sandstone and basalt soils). Fermented completely in wood and aged for twelve months on the fine lees in barriques. Color: dense golden yellow. Bouquet: initially a rather restrained nose, then some scents of cranberry, unripe pineapple and a lot of oaky nuances. On the palate: a bone dry, medium-bodied wine showing notes of green apple and citrus fruit, a racy acidity and pronounced oak flavors. Reasonable finish with some buttery notes. A slightly disappointing wine from this otherwise excellent producer.

  • 2019 Sauvignon Blanc 1, Von Winning, Diedesheim, Germany, 12,5%
Appearance: Medium intensity and gold color

The aromas shows that this wine is developing.

Assessment of quality: The Primary and Secondary Fruit and acidity works well but can improve. given the numerous Primary and Secondary flavors. Long Finish and Pronounced Intensity with High Complexity- Very Good
Readiness for drinking: Pleasant to drink now but will be more balanced over time. Can drink now but have potential for aging.
