  • Day 1
Tasted from coravin in a zalto bordeaux glass.
    No decanting

    The nose:
Classic cab nose, very tight straight forward cab. Great with dark fruit, oak, chocolate, herbs.

    The palate:
Stupid idea not to decant. Very muted palate, but much like nose with dark fruit, blackberry, blackcurrant.

    ————————————

    Day 2.
Opened the rest of the bottle - Decanted 40 minutes and poured back into bottle.

    The nose:
Still has the classic cab vibe. Tobacco, herbs, coffee, chocolate. Dark berries comes up next.

    The palate:
Smooth and a little sliky but you do have those gritty firm tannins. Fruit forward with raspberry, blackcherry, blackcurrant and blackberry. Black pepper, herbs, coffee and tobacco comes up at the end.

    Acidity high
    Tannin medium+
    Full body.

Out of many US cabs between 30-50€ this is one of the better. A lot better. It has the tone, the notes, the complexity to cost a lot more.

Dont need a decant, just let it grow in the glass.

  • This is a great Cabernet Sauvignon from Yakima Valley in Washington State. Still young, but starting to drink very nicely now.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, tobacco, chocolates, peppercorn, spices, light earth, licorice and herbs.

Rich and elegant. A delicious wine.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after two hours of air time.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

    A great sipping wine.

    14.1% alcohol by volume.

    92 points.

    $35.

  • What a disappointment. Despite 2018 being a very good vintage for Washington, this wine is clearly underripe and underperforming. I cannot get past the green pepper nose and green pepper flavors on the palate. It diverts me from any pleasure this wine may otherwise present. I would hope that age might do something to temper the heavily vegetal character, but there is a distinct lack of tannin and acid here to support that. I have had many wonderful bottles from Sheridan, so at least I know this is not characteristic of them as a producer.

  • Didnt take notes, and also didn't have proper glassware. Really good concentration of fruit and balanced drying notes. However there was a green streak flavor note that I didn't like and found distracting. I could sense the quality for the price and would love to try again with the right glass, and preferably 2 more years of bottle age

  • Opened for one hour and then a quick double decant.

Medium plus body, not too complex but very enjoyable and excellent QPR.
