RRV Chardonnay is generally not my favorite but this is very well balanced with nice cheese pastry, peach and buttercream flavors, integrated oak and medium acidity. Good stuff

A beautiful Chardonnay with pear, stone fruit and hints of tropical fruits with a little butterscotch. As the wine opens and warms, the flavors intensify. A really well made Chardonnay. wish I had more.

Quick taste from an impeccable cellar. Pretty amazing Chardonnay. Right from the start, it is obvious that the wine is big - but closed. It seems dense and appears to have some tannin too. It needs at least an hour decant or several more years in the cellar.
Good yellow color indicative of a young wine. A very dense wine. Flavors include apple, stone fruits, vanilla, and just a touch of passion fruit.
A lovely wine grown on premises at the old Lazy W Ranch on Westside (across the street from the WS Winery and considered part of the estate).
The estate Chardonnay fruit includes up to 20 clones in the final blend, which may explain why this wine is so complex. In this respect, it is similar to WS’s Drake Estate Chardonnay, which is a field blend of many Chardonnay clones and often needs time in the bottle. FYI: 2020 was the last vintage of this Chardonnay from the estate. WS continues to make a number of fine Chardonnays from other vineyards.
Hold for a few years. This could be a ten-year wine and will drink very nicely in 2028.

Such a refined, elegant expressiveness. A honeyed minerality that carries a nuanced acidity, even a hint of sparkle as the thick liquid coats the palate. Haven’t experienced a white wine (ever?) that nears the balance and integration that this here bottle pulls off. Citrus presenting more singularly via a back palate rind-y note, as well as riding the oak with a slice of key lime pie, or perhaps a lemon curd. Dare I ask… is this what Montrachet tastes like?

Exotic, coconut, mango, citrus, pears, crowd pleaser, but atypical (would never be mistaken for white Burgundy), nice acidity, long finish
