  • Two Months in Roma; 9/6/2022-10/28/2022 (Rome, Italy): By the glass at Armando Al Pantheon, Rome. Somm opened this specially for us when we asked for a glass after the bottle of Costa del Vente. Orange wine with big structure, nutty and beeswax, lots of grip on the palate. Interesting more than delicious.

  • Med orange. Pronounced. High alcohol (14.5%). Full bodied, and structured. Textured and ripe with sharp acidity like an Assyrtiko. Blossom, citrus, honey, apricot. Nutty. Feels almost off dry on the palate, so much is the richness but the acidity is med+. Interesting tea, hay hints. Med+ finish.

    Macerated Albana di Romagna.
Two days of skin contact, which will the naturally yellowish hue of the berry's juice makes for a brilliant gold/orange color in the bottle. Fermented with native yeasts, not filtered or fined. There are actually 5 different clones of Albana in the 30 year vineyard the fruit is grown in, all natural variations within the variety. Interestingly Albana seems to be very resistant to oxidizing, so this can be kept in your fridge for days after being opened without losing its vigor.

  • 'Sabbia Gialla' San Biagio Vecchio 2018 - Colore da grappa barricata. Vino complesso, nocciola e mandorla fresca, frutta gialla matura e candita, miele. Gusto sapido e stuzzicante. L'alcol si sente comunque, tanto vale farlo scaldare nel bicchiere così diventa più accattivante. Da abbinare piatti di pesce abbastanza strutturati.
