This over-delivers for the price and the best element of this wine is that it is neither jammy nor overripe, being well made and good value for current drinking.

Dense, opaque, dark purple color, with a delightful nose aroma of vibrant blue-black fruit and an additive bouquet of spice and a smokey swirl of vanilla. The mouthfeel is rich, thick, smooth and clinging, with a supportive yet not overpowering structure of acidity and tannin. The fruit (91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Merlot) flavors are primarily reminiscent of an uncomplicated and sweet black currant, but not overtly simplistic, and in spite of its relative youthfulness, and expected price point appropriate depth and complexity, is full enough to coat the palate, and may develop further with cellaring. This well made and balanced wine is at once light enough as to complement Mediterranean food pairings, yet should stand up to seasoned grilled meats and herbed vegetables. The wine is comfortable with its identity, no more or less, and to paraphrase Detective Dirty Harry Callahan, “A wine’s got to know its limitations.”
