  • Billed as a baby Chateauneuf. Maybe.

Fairly dark, relatively opaque, with some ruby.

Nose is berries, some dark fruit. not a ton of complexity int he aromas, but very likeable.

Palate matches nose - very well-made, smooth, restively rich. Light on tannins and those that exist are velvety.

... but not a lot of complexity or excitement. Acid is low (IMO).

I can't say how this will develop with age.

In conclusion, at the $20 I'm, in its a very nice wine -- but its not doing a ton for me. Very true to the Rhone style, but ,missing that extra but that makes it a really interesting, start-of-outstanding wine.

I will likely pass if it pops up int he future.

  • nose: rose, red fruit, some earth, like a autumn hike.

taste: bitter, almost like an amaro, lots of tannin, but lots of structure, interesting and super old world style wine, tastes like it may be good with red meat, would be good traditional french bistro wine.

  • Very drinkable. Cherries and red fruits upfront. With some vanilla, oak and spice in the mid with a pleasant balanced finish. Good food wine.
