Purchased at a restaurant. Decanted. It took about 30-45 minutes to open with swirling. Interesting nose with fruit and spice. Nice balance with smooth tannins and decent acidity. Full bodied mouthfeel with red and black berries. 14% ABV.

Brief impression - tasted at winemaker dinner at King in NYC.
The 2017 Riserva stood out amongst the lineup as the one most fun to drink now, even if it lacks some of the finesse and complexity of the 2018 or 2019. On the nose, I found very ripe, black cherry fruit, earth, licorice, and smoke, and the aromatics were very intense and expressive relative to the more muted aromatics from the younger, and (I believe) cooler vintage wines of 2018 and 2019. On the palate, the 2017 was full bodied and creamier than the surrounding vintages, while the acidity was medium to low, standing out as a bit low on acid relative to the other wines. I found black cherry fruit, smoke / grilled notes, earth, licorice, and sweet baking spice. While the wine is intense, the tannins are fairly well integrated already, so I found the 2017 easy to drink despite its concentration.

Tangy red cherry and a little cough mixture. Fresh and lip smacking finish. Light bodied and perhaps lacking some of the depth from its leading Tuscan neighbours but good value but also pretty young. I’d leave this another 3-5 years if I had some.
