Opened in Hong Kong, slow-oxed for a few hours before being served blind.
I had no chance with guessing this unforutnately - my first experience with this producer and this is not a style of wine that I voluntarily seek out. Extremely strong and peppery... I thought this might be something like an SQN from Cali, but it wasn't as sweet or quite as alcoholic as that. Seemed a bit imbalanced and a bit bitter, probably due to the age, but I did not enjoy this that much at all.
Giving this a 90 as trying to be objective - it's not a badly made wine, it has upside and will probably smooth out a bit with time - but I remain to be convinced. Don't get the hype.

This was very closed in the decanter but did open with air. Very concentrated black fruit and velvet smoothness. Dead ringer for Voge or Allemand Cornas. Herby finish. Very good but too young this can be awesome in a few years and 95/100 on potential.

First Wednesday Wine Club Rhone Dinner (One Penny Red, Summer Hill): Cream, alcohol prickle, riper, dark hued fruit, backed by a touch of herbaceousness. Softly dark hued fruits, positively soupy, jammy, thick, drying tannins. It's all a bit too much for me.
