NobleRottersSydney - Hidden Lable Night (Glass Brasserie, Sydney): {diam, 14.5%} [Andrew] Polished and seductive. Cool-climate, blue-tinged shiraz, spearmint, black pepper. Classy black fruit on the palate, medium/full in weight, low, finely dusty tannins, and matching low/medium acidity. Medium-long finish. Thing is, it all meshes together beautifully. Unsurprisingly given the price, the best red of the night. At about peak drinking for this style. CD$90, AK$39

{diam, 14.5%} Deep garnet red. Still fresh nose of blackberries, dark chocolate, hint of malt. Subtle cedar oak too. Palate is polished, medium/full in weight, with low/medium dusty tannins. Flavours follow the nose; it’s very much fruit driven - an all berry affair. Stops short of raisin or prune flavours, but pushes all the ‘jam’ buttons otherwise. Quite softly structured so although it’s a lovely mouthful now I’m not convinced about long term potential - at least as far as complexity and interest goes. Medium length finish just disappoints a bit.
