  Dark burgundy appearance with a little purple at the core.
  Nose of sticky blackcurrants with some vine leaf, and a little smoke (like heavily smoked meat) - actually a meaty overall aroma. A little pepper and clove on the back of the nose.
  Fruity yet savoury flavours, still fairly ausetere with good tannins. But the austerity balances with moments of more opulence, suggesting there are great pleasures to come. . A dry, pleasantly sour finish with blackberries and maybe some cherries.

  Dark, black cherry: richly-coloured and thick.
  Intense blackberries on the nose with some black pepper and cloves. Even darker fruit comes through later - maybe a hint of mint.
  Chewy blackberries and cherries to taste; a little sour and some green leaf. Good tannins.
