Wet stone, dried tropical fruits, beeswax, creme brulee, citrus zest. The oak is so well integrated, that it makes me angry. No QPR here, but who cares.

Spot prawn season! Wifey bought two pounds so a nice Checkmate seemed like a great match, and it was. Queen Taken is one of my favorites, crisp and fresh, with lemon and grapefruit, pale yellow, medium body that doesn't overpower the sweet prawns.

Nice bottle of wine with a rich palate that maintains acidity. Definite toasted oak notes, vanilla and warm butter, but with a nice vein of lemon and orange peel. Long finish and overall tasty. But price point is obviously high.
