Clear, medium ruby color, fading at the rim. Clean, dark fruit on nose, hint of spice, medium intensity. Red and black fruit on the palate, Carignane is prominent. Dry, high acid, medium plus tannins. Medium alcohol, full bodied, medium length finish. A very good wine. Primary and youthful still four years after bottling, just beginning to develop, not much evolution on day two. Ready to drink, good aging potential due to its structure.

Consumed over two nights. I didn't decant, although I poured off some minimal sediment on the second night. This has a fragrant nose of dark berries, evergreen and fresh earth. Carignane dominates the palate with cranberries and underripe plums. There are some fine tannins that should resolve in a year or two. I find this a bit too tart for sipping on its own, but it would be great with a savory meal. While this is not my favorite Ridge offering, it is a unique wine of obvious quality and pedigree. I will likely sit on my remaining bottle for a few years to see how it evolves.

Medium deep ruby Bright dark berry aromas and flavors Fruit driven flavors, ripe, without being overripe. Sensible alcohol levels. Really lovely and enjoyable Great current drinking, but sense this could easily last another decade

Seems to have crawled into a bit of a shell. It’s lost some of its boisterous, youthful fruit, but has not yet started to develop bottle aged complexity. Give this a few years before sampling again. There’s plenty of depth, but it’s not giving up the goods right now.

Drank over 2 days. Carignane dominant wines not really my thing. Needs food I’d say.
