    The nose:
Pure ripe fruit, blackcurrant, blackberry, plum.
Oak and chocolate balanced very fine.

    The palate:
Same from the nose. So pure on the fruit, very great. You're not in doubt that this is cabernet, but its not that powerful and the secondary notes, is not that strong.

    Acidity medium
    Tanning medium
    Body medium

I like this cabernet a lot - its clean, its simple but jet have that cabernet-feeling that you want.

I could see myself buy a case or two In the future, but the price is just a little to high. For this quality i believe that the price could be 25 dollars instead.

Considered the quality and the price = 90 points

  • I’ve had many vintages of Buehler Cabs, and loved them all; so will try to be objective. One thing I do not like about Buehler is their use of synthetic corks - they are way too tight.

In the glass a nice inky color portends a big wine. The nose is a little closed, but some cedar and cigar box does come through. On the palate you get a mouthful of jammy berries, some bramble, chocolate and a hint of vanilla from the oak. The tannins envelop the mouth, indicating there can be much more to come from this wine.

2nd glass with dinner of grilled skirt steak, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The berries continue to dominate and the tannins remain firm. It is a nice complement to the charred bits of beef from the grill. This needs more time to develop. But definitely quality Napa juice for the price.

  • Appearance is dark ruby, legs are long. Nose with dark fruit with blackberry, cherry, vanilla, oak. Palate is medium acidity, medium plus tannins with some grip and not fully integrated, medium-light body, medium length, mild etoh. Palate is balanced with fruit not overpowering and pleasantly not overly sweet or es extracted as I was expecting. There is blackberry, cherry, vanilla, oak, hint of dill. Pretty good wine, think this is a decent QPR. Would buy again, but not so good that I would specifically seek it out.

  • it was too tart. It may be due to poor storage at Costco.

  • The second wine at Virtual Tasting #29 was this Napa Cabernet. It has a deep ruby color and smells 'yummy' according to the group! Menthol was the first thing I noticed on the nose followed by dark chocolate, tobacco, green pepper, black cherry, blackcurrant and Kirsch. Medicinal notes along with a dusty component were commented on. Dry with medium acidity and medium intensity tannins that were very well melded made for a really nice mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied this Cabernet had flavors of black pepper, green pepper, tart cherry, tobacco, cranberry, pencil shavings and graphite. The group really felt it was red-fruit dominant and had started developing tertiary flavors. The finish was short-medium in length. This $28 wine gets 91 points from me making it a 5 star effort to drink till 2028. I would pair it with braised beef cheeks or a plate full of Osso Bucco.
