Produced from equal amounts of Cot, Cabernet Franc & Pineau d’Aunis. Biodynamic. The color and nose make me think of Malbec (Cot): The purple fruit and floral notes. There’s a bit of spiciness that most come from the Pineau d’Aunis and/or Cabernet Franc, which also give its red berry character on the palate and acidity even though the nose seems so much darker and Malbec-like. Medium-bodied. It’s like a brighter, fresher, softer Malbec without the tannic structure of Cahors Malbec.

Tasting note written after 3 hours open Nose: white cherries, mild baking spices, a little smoke Palate: tart cherry with white pepper and smoke. Acidity is prominent Tasted with: pan fried rainbow trout and turnip greens Overall: this is exactly what I was expecting and paired very well with the meal. I'm sensitive to red wines with tart components so I think this would do well with a slight chill. Good almost very good = 84 points. Would buy again.

At Esora. A blend of Cot, Cabernet and Pineau d’Aunis, this was very fun. A simple but yummy wine, and a really good foil for our beef dish. This had a very attractive nose, with aromas of black cherries and cassis, earth and bramble, and then a nice bit of spice and a little meaty umami thingy going on at the edges. Very nice. The palate had plenty of character on it, with bright snappy acidity and fine acidity framing fresh flavours of black cherries and cassis, bramble and spice, all underpinned by a savoury earthiness. Neither the most powerful nor the most complex, but certainly interesting and very delicious. This drank really well young, with the freshness, balance and integration to the wine that made it a really enjoyable drop and a great foil to our food.

Always killer, especially considering how cheap this is. Pretty serious, I wonder who cellars this stuff. The cork is not so good, but the wine will surely last 5+ years. Anyway, this is singing on day 3, with gorgeous notes of blackberry, cherry, pepper, green flowers, a little dark chocolate. Tangy and fresh, lots of fruit, interesting leafy and floral stuff. Love this.

Just a wonderful, accessible, everyday drinking wine with above average complexity. Ripe (but not overly so) blackberries, cherries and hints of cloves. Crunchy, lively acidity. Even better on day two.
