  • From magnum. Double decanted 7 hours before service. Very dark with little color loss. The air had made this wine come together completely. The tannins and acid were moderate and fully in balance. Great black fruit on the palate. Very food friendly which went well with a mushroom preparation along with a duck sausage en croute that had a duck reduction sauce. In this format, drinking extremely well and not at all in decline. Don't hesitate to buy well stored magnums.

  • From magnum, double decanted 90 minutes before service. Very dark red color. Nose of black fruit and some coffee notes. Balanced tannins and acid. Fully mature, but not declining at all.

  • Decanted for an hour before tasting. Still an excellent bottle of Syrah. Remaining fruit was well-balanced with the acid and tannins were late in the taste, but well-integrated.

  • Popped and poured. Absolutely exceptional bottle of wine. The depth and complexity of the aromas was amazing. There were notes of smoked short ribs, sushi roll nori, hard raspberry candy, and soy sauce. The flavors ranged from strawberry to smarties candy, stone to foie gras and iron. The acid was still quite lively and played a nice counterpoint to the richness of the sous vide egg topping our cassoulet. The tannin structure wasn't noticeable until the finish, where it slowly built into a drying grip. Very excited I still have one more of these hidden in the cellar. Would purchase again.

  • Popped and poured. Nose of blackberry liquor and black licorice. Good dose of acidity on the mid palate. Flavors of blackberry, tobacco and unfortunately a bit too much oak. The wood tended to dominate the back palate. Nice attack, unbalanced finish. Would purchase again.
