Deep ruby in the glass. Sweet aromas equal sweet wine. Or ripe, whatever you want to call it. The palate on this was so fruity, it was difficult to finish a glass of it. One of those supermarket Zins that you bring to a BBQ whenever you have no fucking idea what you’re doing.

Witchy rich in deep red currants, blackberry jam, black pepper with coffee & cocoa notes. This special Liars Dice bottling has always been one of my favorites since 2004 and always a great value. I have Made & tasted enough old vine Zinfandel that even though the Murphy Family no longer owns the winery (KJ) But the wine still gets special attention from family pride and select vineyards that they have had long relationships with. At 15.5 alc it’s packed heavy and enjoyable with a 4 # Tri tip & Real fresh sourdough garlic bread. The mouth feel, richness, and both dried & liqueur type fruit flavors don’t disappoint. At 7 year old and a rich acidity it’s drinking really well but could go another 5-7 years. A nice dose of toast plus American oak adds to the hedonistic experience. Love it … Thanks David!

An old vine zinfandel that has depth and flavor. It is a dark wine with good legs and a pleasing nose. Dark fruits, plum and especially blackberries, predominate. There are rough edges and allowing time to breathe helps but there is still some tannin bite. A good contrast to the "fruit bomb" style of many zinfandels.

This is one of my first favorite wines when I began to appreciate wines. Haven’t had it in years and still like it. We let it decant for awhile as it heavily acidic when we opened. This a dark heavy Zin with notes of fig, blackberry and red currant. Acidic long finish-light tannins.
