  • Mosel trip 2022; 10/8/2022-10/9/2022: 12.5% alc., AP4520.
Same sulphur nose. Ripe fruit-red apple.
Rich umami flavour. Never have I tasted a Riesling with this level of umami.

  • We purchased a couple of bottles from the winer (each a different wine in the middle class category) and I must say overall we were rather disappointed with the quality.

Selbach-Oster are a 4,5-star winery and generally regarded in the wider elite of Mosel - what we tasted was more like 1-2 stars quality at best.

Now to this wine, which costs a proud 18,50 EUR. The scent is clean and nice, although generic. Already at pouring one notices how white and thin the juice is. In taste it is exceedingly neutral; doesn't show basically anything. Some in the group thought it was too acidic too.
Everyone in our group of 6 disliked it.
