The wood is imperceptible on the nose, which features an expansive array of berries wafting from the glass. The palate is fairly elegant and quite plush, with subtle flavors of raspberry, cranberry, and strawberries lifted by exotic spices. A little chewy at present, though approachable with a slightly tart floral finish. Good value and very easy to enjoy today, though it should develop more complexity with further cellaring, and hold for two decades.

Celebrating Nita's 68th birthday & the day after the Winter Solstice. Opened 3hrs prior to diner & slow-oxed in Riedel Burgs leading to a very placid, lifted & balanced wine with lovely red fruit, spice and underbrush. Off to a great start with btl #1 of 3. 13.5% alc Served in the high 50s very low 60s.

The '19 VV seems promising, and drinks pretty well out of the gate as well. On the nose I found a mix of dark red and black fruit tones, with dark red raspberry and black plum fruits, sweet spices, earth, and violet floral tones.
On the palate, the wine is medium in body and a bit grainy at this stage, needing some time for the tannins to fully integrate. It's not super expressive today, but what is there is very pretty. I found rich red raspberry fruit tones, a bit redder than the fruit tones I got on the nose, with earth, exotic spices, and violet floral tones.
This seems like a very well balanced wine that should age well over the next few years. While I've read about the new oak usage of this producer being a bit noticeable in the past, I did not find that to be an issue with this bottle.

Rich and full nose with lots of deep purple fruit. Shows some newer world style on first pour, but opens up over time to reveal some depth and interest. Not my favorite '19 at this point but may develop more over time.

Followed the 2019 Cazetieres and 2019 Gevrey VV over two nights to compare the two. Each is loaded with berry notes and texturally very nice. The Cazetieres has a little more flesh to it, and also shows more complexity with some underlying earth/mineral notes. Both lovely wines and I’m impressed with my first experience with the producer. These will age well, but are made in a somewhat supple style and are quite enjoyable now.
