Sweet and exotic. Chinese 5 spice powder along with plum and cherry fruits. Super luscious, creamy and powerful but light on its feet. The finish really fans out.

Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair tasting with Moestue (Territoriet): Wow! What a wine the Echézeaux is. The nose here is gorgeous. Stylistically quite different from the Clos Vougeot. Sensual and poised nose with dark red fruit. Some lovely smoke and spice notes that is nicely integrated with the fruit. The palate shows a layered core of vibrant fruit and maintains a masterful balance between elegance and power that is admirable. Rich and concentrated, you can sense the power, but the wine still comes across as rather elegant and light on its feet. The structure and tannins are definitely there, but with always maintaining a silky touch. Good freshness and a very long and slightly mineral finish.
Who ever has this in there cellar is in luck. I suppose this will push into 97 points after some cellaring (96+ for now). -------- The Echézeaux vineyard consists of 11 lieux-dits. Where this cuvee is produced from the following three: Le Cruots ou Vignes Blanches (0.33 ha.), Les Champs Traversin (0.255 ha.) and Clos Saint-Denis (0.03). Beginning with the 2020 vintage Louis-Michel has added Echezeaux du Dessus to the mix.
