Nice raspberry, chocolate and spice mix. It seems to need air to come out. Probably Petite Sirah and Zin blend. Excellent value but there have been better vintages of this wine in the past.

13.5% alcohol; no hint about the grapes that make up the blend; composite cork with 2.5 mm maximum wine penetration, cork aroma of cork & binding glue; medium-weight foil; medium legs, under the light, the wine is a brilliant red, mixing dark & vermillion elements; nose is a little metallic and rooty, with a trace of cellar, not at all fruit forward; opened at room temperature (25 degrees C), vinturied, and tasted about 15 minutes later; full bodied, a wallop of alcohol and tannins on the front and sides of the tongue -- fruitiness, sourness, and sweetness, in that order, toward the back and into the short finish; if pressed to name a fruit flavor, I detect generic cherries and quince, a more apple-like tartness rather than a warmer-climate citrus; pair with hamburgers, meat loaf, or possibly salmon grilled on a pecan-wood board

Pleasantly surprised at the level of quality. Nicely balanced red in a popular style. Had over 2 days and it held up well.
