This was a part of 1997 and 1999 Tuscan tasting including 3 Brunellos and 2 Super Tuscans, same producers from each year. Red cherry, and violets, and forest undergrowth; overall brighter fruit nose than 1999; quite balanced palate with ripe, very very fine tannins barely notable and moderate acidity. At its prime if you like older wines like me.

Opened by Jcubed. This is another wine which has often made the rounds at offline events in Chicago. 6th time I have had this wine. This wine seemed to be on the decline based upon my prior tastings. A bigger more modern style. Deep purple color. Some licorice aromas on the nose. Notes of leather, burnt red fruit and raisins on the finish. This is one of the 2 wines which I thought was showing its' age. Drink now. 91 points.

Nose of metal, blood, plums, and black fruits. On the palette it is very smooth, with great balance between fruity and savory elements. Fully resolved and fine tannins. Very enjoyable wine.
Delicious!

Dark core, rich red rim. Blood, cassis, tar, ripe and rich. Furry tannins, ripe blue and red berries, tar spice, blood, probably on its downward slide but still drinking beautifully.

Probably not improving anymore but still going strong. Deep tawny, some sediment, raspberry compote. With Jodey.
