The opening wine at a West coast Syrah night with my wine group. Notes of peaches and a lot of salinity. Somehow I enjoyed the 2017 vintage more. It was tough match with food, and I think it would have been better off as a sipping wine, without food. Out of my group, this was polarizing. Some didn't care for it, others loved it.

A straw golden color. Some almost pink tones. On the nose, quite ripe yellow and white orchard fruit, spice and almost a slight nutty oxidative character. On the palate, this is lovely with balanced white orchard fruit, citrus, and crisp acidity in a full bodied and almost unctuous palate with great energy along a lively and lifting finish. Drinking well now.

Apple, nutty and mild honey flavors, medium-long finish. Great with fried green tomatoes, blackened basa and pecan rice.

Aligote is still a rather unknown varietal to me, and after this bottle I’ll be hunting for more.
High acid, saline, and delicate flowers. I would love to sit outside a bistro, enjoy the setting sun and drink this alongside oysters
