Nose of kirsch, graphite on nose; sappy raspberry, black cherry, cranberry, bacon fat, hint of truffles. First hour, seemed thin and way past its prime, second hour, opened up beautifully. Decant.

Kirsch, graphite on nose; candied cherries, cranberry, hint of earth, silky texture first hour, slightly chewy after, good acidity, elegant wine overall, short finish.

Very nice bottle of wine; I think pretty much what one should want in a bottle of Burgundy. The best part about it is the texture-- pure silk. Sweet fruit on the palate. Red fruits, earth, and a little sous bois on the nose. Finish is a bit short, but I think that's the only downside here. No harm drinking this now; no harm waiting a few years either. Probably no harm waiting a decade, but I'll open my next bottle well before then.

Very nice and a very good value compared to other 1er Cru wines. The nose has some nice earth and spice mixed with dark cherries. The flavors are nice and smooth and well balanced from start to finish.

This bottle was particularly delicious. More bottle sweetness than I remember. Better than the '00 Clos St. Denis I had recently.
